Dr. Navin Chandra Joshi (MD Ayurveda), renowned for his significant contributions to the field of Ayurveda, was invited as a Special Guest to Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur. At the invitation of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of the University and Mrs. Vandana Pathak, Dr. Joshi shared his valuable experiences and insights on the importance of Marma Therapy and its practical applications.

Notably, Dr. Navin Joshi received his Ayurvedacharya degree from this very university. Returning to the institution where he began his academic journey in Ayurveda, this time as a Special Guest, was an immensely proud and emotional moment for him.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Joshi has been imparting knowledge and training in Nadi Pariksha (Pulse Diagnosis) and Marma Therapy to lakhs of students and healthcare professionals through both online and offline platforms. He has consistently contributed to advancing these traditional Ayurvedic practices through practical training and a clinical approach.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the event was the association with Mrs. Vandana Pathak. Although she is senior to Dr. Joshi in age, she regards him as her Guru after receiving training from him. This beautiful relationship reflects the essence of India’s traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara and the timeless respect for knowledge and learning.

As part of the programme, a special practical session was also organised at the university’s Institute of Allied Health Sciences, keeping Dr. Joshi’s schedule in consideration. The session provided participants with an opportunity to understand the practical aspects of Marma Therapy and gain insights into its applications.

On this occasion, Dr. Navin Joshi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Mrs. Vandana Pathak, Dr. Praveen Katiyar, his Protocol Officer Mr. B.K. Yadav, and the entire university team for their warm invitation and hospitality.

He stated that returning to his own university and sharing his experiences and knowledge with students was an extremely memorable, meaningful, and inspiring experience.

Taking the traditional knowledge of Ayurveda forward through practical training and academic engagement in modern educational institutions is an important need of the present time. Such initiatives inspire students and young healthcare professionals to develop a deeper practical understanding of the Indian system of medicine and its rich heritage.
