## *Professor Umashankar Nigam Honoured as “Icon of Panchkarma” at Dehradun Workshop
**Dehradun, September 28:**
Ayush Darpan Foundation successfully organized a *one-day Panchkarma workshop* at its Dehradun office on Sunday. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Ayurvedic physicians across different districts of Uttarakhand, while many practitioners from remote hill regions also joined virtually.
The highlight of the workshop was the presence of *renowned Panchkarma expert from Mumbai, Prof. Vaidya Umashankar Nigam*. Sharing his vast clinical experience, Prof. Nigam guided practitioners on the finer aspects of Panchkarma therapy and addressed their queries related to clinical practice. In recognition of his unparalleled contribution to the field, he was conferred with the prestigious title of *“Icon of Panchkarma.”*
The program also featured insightful presentations by *Dr. Garima Sharma, Dr. Rekha Khanna,* and *Dr. Akansha Negi,* who shared their research and clinical perspectives on the growing relevance of Panchkarma in lifestyle-related disorders. *Mr. Harimohan Tripathi, Nodal Officer of Ayush Mission Dehradun,* highlighted the government’s initiatives for promoting Ayurveda and Panchkarma.
Several other practitioners, including *Dr. Vijay, Dr. Mayank, and Dr. Atul,* shared their experiences and emphasized the practical utility of Panchkarma in routine practice.
The workshop began with the ceremonial lamp lighting by *Dr. B.D. Joshi, Trustee of Ayush Darpan Foundation,* who stressed the need to present Ayurveda on a scientific platform. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by *Dr. Mayank Bhatkoti from Gurukul Haridwar,* who underlined the importance of such interactive workshops in empowering Ayurvedic physicians.
The Ayush Darpan Foundation announced that similar training programs and workshops will continue to be organized in the future to further strengthen and popularize Panchkarma and Ayurveda at both national and global levels.
