George Hara will address International Conference on Ayurveda in Rishikesh

George Hara, Chairman of the Alliance Forum Foundation (AFF) based in San Francisco, USA, would be addressing the Ayush Darpan Foundation’s international seminar on Ayurveda which shall be organised on the 3rd and 4th of October 2015 in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India.
Born in Osaka, Japan in 1952, George Hara is an archaeologist and noted venture capitalist who has served as an advisor to the Ministry of Finance and to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in Japan. He was also the Prime Minister’s Special Commissioner on the Government Tax Panel, and served as a member of various government committees including Japan’s Industrial Structure Council of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. George Hara invested in many of the technologies that connect the world today, and is among the most prominent Silicon Valley venture capitalists responsible for the emergence of numerous industry pioneering firms. He is internationally known as a leading edge technology capitalist and visionary architect in the field of post-computer technology.
He is also the author of numerous publications, including a Japanese best-seller entitled 21 Seiki no Kokufuron (An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations in the 21st Century), published by Heibonsha in 2007, and Atarashii Shihonshugi (New Capitalism) published by PHP in 2009.
Currently active in Japan, the US and developing countries in Asia and Africa as the Chairman of the board of the Alliance Forum Foundation, George Hara is also involved in the evolving field of stem cells and regenerative medicine. AFF organises the World Alliance Forum in San Francisco (WAFSF) which serves as a catalyst for commercialization and industrialization of regenerative medicine. Hundreds of participants from the United States, Japan, and other parts of the world gather once a year to interact and seize the emerging opportunities in the field of regenerative medicine and stem cells. This year WAFSF would be held on November 12-13 in San Francisco, US.Ayurveda has a significant body of knowledge in the field of regenerative medicine that needs to be diligently researched and applied towards the well being and welfare of people by the concerned authorities. There is also a significant potential to explore a synergy between Ayurveda and developments in the modern medicine so that traditional wisdom of India can be used for global welfare.The forthcoming conference by Ayush Darpan Foundation shall have the presence of eminent scholars of Ayurveda from across the country like Padmashri Prof. Rajesh Kotecha, Padmashri  Balendu Prakash,  Prof. Uma Shankar Nigam, Prof. G. S. Tomar, Prof. Anup Thakkar, Dr. Surendra Ved Pathak,  Prof. Radhey Shyam Sharma and Dr. O. P. Singh  among others who shall address various sessions of the seminar. George Hara would speak on how traditional medicinal systems like Ayurveda have a significant relevance to address various pathologies in an effective manner, and secure the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, especially in the context of developing countries.
The potential of Ayurveda as a mainstreamed and complementary medicinal system is increasingly being recognised across the globe. Noted tennis player from Germany, Steffi Graf was recently appointed a brand ambassador for Ayurveda by state of Kerala.
Ayush Darpan Foundation aspires to make its annual international conferences a reputed and established platform to exchange ideas, developments and evidence based research in the field of Ayurveda to benefit the scholars and stakeholders, and to guide the policymakers to mainstream the use of Ayurveda to address various challenges-both traditional and evolving- in order to deliver wellness to their peoples.
