Mission to take AYUSH to the grassroots level :TOT Training a dream mission of Ayush Ministry.

Mainstreaming of AYUSH is always a challenge for health sector because the grassroots health workers are not much aware about these streams of AYUSH .First time in the country’s history a full fledged Secretary of the AYUSH Ministry Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha and his team are playing a key role in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family welfare and took up the challenge of mainstreaming Ayurveda and other streams of AYUSH, and to reach them to the grassroots level of the country .As we all know that at village level peoples are using Ayurvedic remedies for a long time and they have a good faith on it.But it is also an ironic truth that the role of these pathies in curing as well as prevention of disease is also struggling for its recognition at national statistical record level.For the first time a Team of Ayush Doctors across India were trained as master trainers in a TOT training programme in New Delhi and these master trainers from all states of the country are now doing quite well in mission to propagate Ayush at grassroots level.Dr Pradeep Mehra who is working as a medical Officer in Nainital District of Uttarakhand told the editor that they got a positive and enthusiastic response from the Asha and ANM health workers.Dr Ashutosh Pant a well known environmentalist and Doctor working in Rudrapur of Uttarakhand also has the same experience.The master trainers from Jammu and Kashmir to Haryana also have similar stories of success .They shared their experiences and difficulties faced but overall they are quite satisfied with the results.Dr P.K.Srivastava, a master trainer from Lucknow told Ayush Darpan that TOT programme is a very successful in UP state. Master trainer from Chattisgarh told our editorial team that the programme is in full force in CG state but after introduction of a new module ,the programme Implementation has taken to new heights at the grass roots level.The programme is already on in various states at village level.Ayush Doctors are doing a great job by interacting with the general public through power point presentations in which they are describing simple herbs ,their identification,how to prevent some chronic ailments as well as the role of Yoga in prevention of diseases .We are uploading some of the pictures of these programmes from all over India as received.
